Last week, the premium domain, Hurt.com acquired for $1.5 Million in a private sale. Details surrounding the sale have been scarce as is often the case for premium domains acquired through private sales.
The sale price of $1,500,000 represents the third-largest sale of 2023, after help.com ($3 Mil) and HBO’s acquisition of “Max.com” for $1,800,000-which was recorded just one week prior to the Hurt.com transaction. The two account for over $3.25 Million in combined aftermarket sales.
So Who Owns Hurt.com? Who Sold Hurt.com?
As of press time, the domain Hurt.com displayed a landing page with the message, “Hurt.com Launching Soon”. It is currently registered at GoDaddy with Whois Details masked.

As we can see from the historic WHOIS changes, the Name and Company details were updated a few times within the last 5 years. This could indicate possible previous domain sales, although we don’t have any evidence to definitively suggest this.
What we do know: Hurt.com has used the ns63.domaincontrol.com & ns64.domaincontrol.com nameservers (basic GoDaddy NS) without interruption since at least October 2015. Some web admins prefer to manage all DNS records at their registrar, using the default nameservers, so, again, this may or may not hold significance.
What will be interesting will be any forthcoming Registrant, Company, and Nameserver changes made now that the domain has been acquired.
